Crowd surfing at the Whitney

blog_gallery_goround.jpgLast Friday night, the lower level of the Whitney was the unlikely site of moshing, crowd surfing and lyric shouting when the museum played host to two bands, Real Estate and Titus Andronicus. It was the kick-off of a series of weekly concerts at the museum, which runs alongside the recently-opened retrospective, Dan Graham: Beyond. Graham's ouevre includes works in performance, video installation and musical collaboration, and the museum has chosen eight (mostly) local acts in the spirit of the artist's musical experimentation.

The Graham retrospective runs until October 11.
