We can't think of many girls cooler than Daisy Lowe. The 20-year-old Brit is known for her hipster-chic style and easygoing attitude, but then again what would you expect from the offspring of Gavin Rossdale and Powder vocalist-turned-fashion designer, Pearl Lowe? The voluptuous porcelain-skinned beauty has starred in ad campaigns for Marc by Marc Jacobs and Agent Provocateur and walked in dozens of shows including Fall 2009 Anna Sui and Fall 2008 Burberry Prorsum. And still, she finds time to act and design. We caught up on the phone with Lowe, who recently relocated to Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
Lowe in "Law & Order," from the March 2009 issue.You recently moved to Williamsburg from the East Village. Why the switch?
I found that I could breathe a bit more out here. Also, I really didn't make that many friends when I was in the city, and after a year of being quite alone in New York, I immediately found a circle of friends in Brooklyn that were all on the same path. It's a big bunch of, like, 40 of us.
Who's in your gang?
I hang out with a lot of musicians, artists, moviemakers, actors and other creatives, but Abbey Lee [Kershaw] is my favorite model friend. And, I'm always with my boyfriend Will [Cameron]. We've been together for almost three years in December. We split up for six months last summer, but we're back together.

I like doing mad, little still lifes, really silly things. I made all of my favorite shoes spell out love, and I took a huge painting in our apartment and stuck some sunglasses and cute Chanel heels to it—I wanted to make it look like it was wearing high heels. Coney Island is also one of my favorite photo-taking spots.
What else are you working on?
I'm doing a jewelry line for Swarovski that comes out in January. It's four pieces—a necklace, bracelet, ring and a set of earrings. They're kind of magical in a dark romantic way. I've incorporated black and white, star and moon crystals and multiple strands of chains. I wanted it to be about the earth, moon and planetary movements, all that kind of weird stuff.

I'm so in love with fashion and playing with clothes, so I would never say no. My mom just did a line for Peacocks and said she wouldn't do it unless I modeled for her. She's got such amazing style, but she loves all that Victorian, high-neck, big puffy sleeve stuff. I said to her, "Mom, I can't be that covered up!" So I helped change things a bit. I think it would be really fun for the two of us to eventually design together because our styles are so different.
Describe your favorite look right now.
I like looking like a little china doll. I'm really into vintage floral dresses and skirts accessorized with Chanel pumps, but I can be a bit of a vamp or a hippie or a punk.

MTV asked me to do a show, but I didn't want it all to be a huge vanity project. Since I'm very interested in the environment, I thought they could film me doing my first protest. Since it's illegal to march in London, we lived in these camps where we were self-sustaining. We made our own toilets out of sawdust, and only bought organic food from the farmer's market. It was awesome to be a part of a greater cause. I go out to parties and they're fun, but when you go to a protest, you're like 'Wow, I'm really part of something!"
Wow, how did you make a toilet?
Well I didn't actually make the toilet, but I did use it.
Are you interested in acting professionally?
I just did a cool film for the band Noah and the Whale. It's really f---ing great, excuse my language. It's for their new album, and I play the main love interest who breaks the guy's heart. It was my first taste of acting, and I really did enjoy it. I don't know if I'll ever just act though; honestly, I think I'll always do a lot of things because I'd get bored otherwise.
