On Marc Jacobs's playlist: Unsolved Mysteries

blog_unsolved_02.jpgMarc Jacobs always has his thumb on the pulse of coolness – and his millions of fans look to him without fail for the next big thing. It goes without saying, then, that he would surround himself with multi-talented, terminally cool people as well. One of his newest discoveries is Unsolved Mysteries, a band fronted by Jon Lynn (left), 28, who just happens to also be a designer for Marc by Marc Jacobs. (Well, technically, he works on the Jacobs by Marc Jacobs collection—all that groovy special stuff you see at the Bleecker Street stores...)

blog_unsolved_t.jpg Unsolved’s sophomore album, Tragic Trouble (Mirror Universe), is available exclusively at Marc by Marc Jacobs stores and it could not have found a more appropriate place. The music, like the clothes, is young, extremely fun, sometimes moody and always tragically hip. Danceable and electronic, with tongue-in-cheek lyrics and quirky beats, the album is a perfect way to get in the mood for summer – I can envision lounging in the sun at one of the Williamsburg Pool Parties surrounded thousands of Marc by Marc-wearing hipsters. And their first single, “Pen 15,” a cheeky love song, has already been added to my summer playlist.
