“Carrying a good book is like having a friend with you,” says Paris-
based designer Simone Bendix, whose new accessories collection, Edition
Poshette, is inspired by vintage book covers. Bendix designs original
prints, which she transfers onto leather; she then gives the purses
evocative names like Les Feuilles de Mon Carnet Secret (The Pages of My
Secret Diary). Tortoiseshell clasps add to their sense of old-world
luxury, but they can be worn in a thoroughly modern way, strapped to the
waist with a removable leather belt (editionposhette.com).
