And as an Upper East Side resident, Vidal Trullols is more than familiar with her chic clientele's stomping ground. Here, the designer reveals her Louboutin addiction, where to get the best chocolate chip cookies and why she can't stand Crocs (Mario Batali, look out.).
Define your style in three words: Feminine, chic, and elegant.
Daily uniform: Varies but most days I wear J Brand jeans; a Balenciaga T or a J. Crew button down; my husband's old, worn out belt that I had resized; a Rick Owens black leather jacket, Lanvin flats, and extra large sunglasses.
Greatest hits: I am still obsessing over my own grey hand-woven fringe gown from my Spring Summer 2011 Collection and my Ivory Feather Beaded Gown from Fall Winter 2010. I really treasure my vintage leopard coat and vest that my husband gave me as gifts.
Preferred footwear: Christian Louboutin—the higher the better! Also Celine clogs (usually for daytime).
Finishing touches: My husband's grandmother's Morocota, old gold coin from 1862, Napoleon III, that was custom made into a pendant in the 50's. My father's old Rolex. And a Nancy Gonzalez black, extra-large croc hobo. On my wrists I like to wear two Eddie Borgo gold cone bracelets.
Nighttime look: I like to wear my one of a kind designs which vary from short skirts with clever blouses to mini dresses, usually pairing them with a cool Balenciaga jacket or a vintage skin. Always a clean and fresh look.
Best recent discovery: Dark chocolate chip cookies from Levain Bakery in NYC. It is an addiction.
Favorite stores: Bergdorf Goodman in NYC, Colette in Paris, Grace's Marketplace in NYC.
Style pet peeve: Rubber flip-flops—sorry! Oh and Crocs—they remind me of Hannibal Lecter from "The Silence of the Lambs."
Style icons: Grace Kelly, Coco Chanel and Edie Sedgwick.
Last purchase: A Lanvin 70's Modernist Clamper bracelet on an eBay bidding battle.
Favorite haunts: Le Ami Louis in Paris—the best foie gras ever!
