Hunting Nostalgia

In an era when concrete and steel modernism reign, craftsmen Jan Hendzel and Oscar Hunt are redefining the standard with their refreshing trifecta of throwback techniques applied to decidedly updated designs, and a strong focus on sustainability. With this mantra, their bespoke design firm Hendzel and Hunt has been steadily building business with recent commissions for actor Kevin Spacey, The Shop at Bluebird in London, ultra-hip ad firm Mother New York, and even catching the eye of Philippe Starck.

Of particular note is their sustainable MADE IN PECKHAM range, built entirely out of found materials in and around their London SE15-based studio. The signature Kirkwood Chair (each design is named after the area where the materials were sourced) is fashioned out of reclaimed hardwood and Victorian floorboards scavenged from the area, including an old bank that was being torn down.
