Growing Up

blog_jjr.jpgKeep an eye out for up-and-comers Jackson, Johnston and Roe.  Designing together under their grandfathers' surnames for the past five years, this trio of Brooklyn-based artists and childhood friends--Sara Moffat, Teo Griscom and Riley Salyards--is gaining momentum. Their simple, elegant women's line is cut from bamboo, linen, silks, fine wools and cottons imported from Italy and Portugal. Bashful blouses, high-waisted shorts, knickers and jumpsuits comprised their spring collection. For fall, cropped coats, fitted skirts, handsome stripes and organic prints evoked a graceful, sophisticated air.

The clothing, homegrown in New York City, is available in boutiques in Brooklyn, downtown Manhattan and San Francisco. Come fall, look for JJR at Saks and Steven Alan.
