Accessories Report

blog_accessories.jpgNew York fashion week is just getting under way and already our accessories team has eyeballed some must-haves for spring.

Hit List
This season, there's something to bring out the tough-chic girl in all of us. Alexander Wang presented a stylish and cool trifecta of bags, jewelry and shoes. We also loved the military-inspired bags and canvas totes at Yigal Azrouel and  Oliver Peoples's sleek summer shades. --BROOKE MAGNAGHI

Bag Crazy at YSL
From the tents to the sidewalks, YSL took it to the streets. At the shows, the Besace bag was slung across the arm of almost every major accessories editor, including our own Brooke Magnaghi. During just one show, we spotted four editors carrying the coveted bag, not to mention a slew of socialites, celebs and buyers.

blog_accessories_04.jpgBut the house's reach spread far beyond the tents when 5,000 limited edition logo-ed cotton totes were distributed on NYC streets on Sunday.  (The bags house the latest issue of "Manifesto," a lush booklet of the current ad campaign.) Stuck in the shows and couldn't get one? Too bad. They were doled out on a first-come, first-served basis. -- SHIONA TURINI
