Coming up Roses

blog_box_01.jpgWe've been noticing an uptick in "makeup with benefits" lately. We're talking about cosmetics that promise to improve skin as well as beautify it in the traditional sense. (Think hyaluronic acid-enhanced shadow or collagen-enriched mascara.) Our favorite newcomer to the arena is the Wild Rose Color Cosmetics line by Korres, a collection of foundations, powder, lipstick and eye shadows that all contain evening primrose oil for hydration and brightening.

Whether our skin will be fundamentally improved by any of it, we can't say for sure. But we do love the silky textures and flattering shades. Also, we'll admit, we are suckers for the ingeniously-designed packaging the company has dreamed up. The origami-esque paper boxes, containing concealer, foundation and powder, were originally intended to be used for sending samples to beauty editors, but they will be available in Korres New York boutiques starting this month.
