Banks Violette's downtown block party

blog_gallery_goround.jpgA lively, leather-clad crowd nearly shut down Grand Street for last Thursday's opening of Banks Violette's show at Team Gallery. Inside the exhibition and spilling onto the street, young Violette fans mixed with downtown regulars, including Tiny Vices's Tim Barber and artist Aurel Schmidt.

"Not Yet Titled," Violette's fifth solo show at Team, features new graphite works and a lone motorcycle sculpture made from resin and salt. Violette also built a bench out of instrument cases and drum hardware for the show, which guests are encouraged to use.
