Almost makes us want to get married again

net_a_porter_wedding.jpgLast week Net-a-Porter unveiled pieces from their newly launched Wedding Boutique.  Engaged or not, we fell hard for the white hot offerings from Lanvin, Temperley London, Stella McCartney and Yves Saint Laurent.

net_a_porter_rick_owens.jpgStandout items included this Bottega Veneta silk and linen-blend asymmetric dress and Rick Owens draped silk playsuit. (If you're wondering when Rick Owens launched a bridal line, don't. Many of the items in the Wedding Boutique are from exclusive capsule collections.)

net_a_porter_bridal.jpgThough plenty of long formal gowns are on offer, there's an emphasis on short options, beachy/bohemian frocks and other fashion-forward choices for brides who aren't interested in going the traditional route. The extras are all here too: shoes from Jimmy Choo and Christian Louboutin, veils by Maison Michel, La Perla lingerie.

For some women, the thought of missing out on the ritual of bridal shopping is nothing less than tragic. But for a certain kind of modern bride who wants to avoid the multiple fittings, agonizing wait times and iron-clad return policies of traditional bridal shopping, it's a godsend.
