I look at many watches covering the fine jewelry market, but unless it’s on the repair table, I rarely see one without a face—that is until now. Inspired by the idea of a storm’s calm core, Chinese-born, German-based product designer Yiran Qian created the faceless “eye of the storm” watch. The piece is entirely black and open in the center—but when a button is pressed, small LED lights illuminate along the missing watch face to indicate the time.
