Artfully Bound: Exhibition A's BookShop

While not quite a Damien Hirst dead animal installation, a paperback book on the artist, published by Gagosian, in which Hirst has drawn a shark tank resembling his fish-in-formaldehyde landmark sculpture, certainly has its place in the world of art collecting. As such, Exhibition A, the website that offers limited edition prints at affordable prices, will launch a new section called BookShop on Monday, offering one-of-a-kind and limited-edition artist monographs that are signed, inscribed, and scribbled in by the artist. Among the initial offerings: a book put out by the Gallerie Jerome de Noirmont in which George Condo has drawn a picture of a man about to strangle him, a Yoshitomo Nara title featuring a hand-scrawled shout-out to New York City, and a Dan Colen ’zine signed by the artist with a heart drawing and a note about Hugh Hefner. Prices range from $5000 for the Hirst to a mere $150 for an autographed anthology of Rachel Feinstein’s work.
