W receives two national magazine award nominations
One for General Excellence and the other for Feature Photography. Tilda
Swinton’s otherworldly shoot from our August 2011 issue received the
Feature Photography nomination from the American Society of Magazine
Editors. Swinton, who is (fortunately) no stranger to avant-garde
fashion, braved the elements on location in Iceland in some
unconventional garb like VPL’s latex coat and dress, a cocoon-like
Hermes dress, and a bald cap.
