After Hours: Date Night

blog-olivier-Theyskens-kate-bosworth-whitney-party.jpg Wednesday evening, troupes of headband-wearing girls (not of the Blair Waldorf variety) and guys sporting hedge-like beards descended on Skylight Studio for the annual Whitney Art Party, this year sponsored by Theory and Saks Fifth Avenues. Among the attractions were a well-stocked central bar; a silent auction filled with works by Max Snow, Lorna Williams and their like, and bewitching (or confounding, depending on your perspective) performances by Iona Rozeal Brown and Kalup Linzy, in collaboration with Kreemart. Arriving just in time for the latter was one of the event’s honorary chairs, Olivier Theyskens, who brought along Kate Bosworth as his plus one (or plus two? Her beau Michael Polish stood aside to let them do their interview thing).

“He picked me up and said, ‘Let’s go. Let’s have some fun,’” said Bosworth of Theyskens. “He’s the perfect date.”
