After Hours: The Italian Job

blog-Brit-Marling,-Frida-Giannini-and-Bella-Heathcote.jpg Who: A mix of starlets, New York socials and artists, including Brit Marling, Abbey Lee Kershaw, Rula Jebreal, Bella Heathcote and Georgina Bloomberg.

What: Summery cocktails in honor of Gucci’s Frida Giannini, hosted by W’s Stefano Tonchi.

Where: Italy by way of the Upper East Side at the Academy Mansion, set a bloom with Mediterranean trees and pink floral bushes.

When: Thursday, June 7th

Why: Giannini was in town to show her Resort 2013 collection—and take in some of the local fashion color while she was at it. “Ten years ago, I could tell you there was more a sense of dressing up here,” she said, “But today I really feel in the middle of this casual attitude, very sporty, elegant, chic. Especially when you’re walking the streets of New York, girls and women are mixing different things, which is interesting.”
