America's Top Models

When Karlie Kloss and Joan Smalls appeared on MTV's Video Music Awards red carpet last night, it wasn't simply to show off their enviable physiques in body-conscious white Kimberly Ovitz and quilted black leather Balmain, respectively. No, the two supermodels were there to announce their new roles as co-hosts of MTV's revival of the cult fashion series, House of Style, the first episode of which will debut on October 9th. Besides being excited about this honor—they follow in the footsteps of previous hosts like Cindy Crawford, Shalom Harlow and Amber Valletta—we at W were extra pleased because the news comes just two months after Kloss and Smalls graced our July covers—and had full features inside—declaring them the New Faces of Fashion. In an era when celebrities are more often given this pivotal place, it's thrilling to see two such talented models, with vibrant personalities to boot, getting the attention they deserve. Coincidence? We'd like to think not, but either way, congratulations to Kloss and Smalls!
