Estefania Lacayo and Jessica Wilpon Kamel have been working on their
signature, coveted limited-edition collaborations with other
designers—Thakoon, Missoni, Maison Martin Margiela, and many, many
more—since they founded Edition 01 in 2011. But when Lacayo realized
that she had been on an endless quest for the perfect fur accessory that
wasn’t “crazy expensive”, rather than another partnership, she decided
to create her own. The resulting new collection, Private Label, offers a
line of fur staples like neck warmers, collars, vests, and jackets that
all come in under $1,500. The wear anywhere collar (bottom right) is becoming
an instant hit around the W office—easy to throw on over a coat or
sweater for extra warmth and just in time for this week’s snowstorm.
