Don’t Miss: Artful State Slogans

blog-fifty-and-fifty-state-mottos-02.jpg Fifty artists were asked to reimagine and illustrate their home state motto—from Anne Mieke’s Washington illustration (Al-ki, a Chinook Indian word meaning “bye and bye”) to Aaron Draplin’s Oregon (Alis Volat Propiis, Latin meaning “she flies with her own wings”)—as a kind of designer atlas. The project, Fifty and Fifty, kicks off tonight with an opening party at the Ace Hotel New York and will be on display in their gallery space through February 1st.

For a sneak peek at the designs (or to buy a print…or 50), head to the Fifty and Fifty site.
