The Look: Indigo girls—Diane Kendal, working for Lancôme, anchored the smokey cat eyes with purple liner, and created an iridescent blue-yet-purple effect with layered indigo and lavender shadows. Sculptural, criss-crossed chignons by Odile Gilbert for Kérastase had a smooth glossy finish and looked almost art deco. "With strong makeup, it¹s nice to have superclean, shiny hair," said Gilbert.

The Products: Lancôme Le Crayon Khol in Purple Dusk (at least until the indigo shadow is released in Lancôme¹s upcoming Jason Wu collection) and Kérastase Elixir Ultime Moringa Immortel Oil.

The Trick: Hair was held in place by a hidden scaffolding of tightly coiled braids.

The Scoop: The hair clips Gilbert had intended to use were delayed due to the blizzard.
