The Show: Thakoon

The Look: Summer meets winter—Makeup artist Diane Kendal, working for NARS, added a ton of shimmer—and, she said, a bit of summer sunlight—to a midnight blue smoky eye. For the hair, swatches of extensions cut into stair-step bangs were affixed conspicuously on top of an otherwise perfectly slicked-back chignon. “The bangs are like hats,” said Kérastase stylist Odile Gilbert. The nails, by Kim D’Amato of Priti NYC, were meant to look wet.

The Products: NARS Ubangi Eye Paint (out in September), Kérastase Resistance Ciment Thermique, and Priti NYC Polish in Bristol Fairy.

The Trick: To give the eye a graphic shape, Kendal stopped the color squarely at the outer corner.

The Scoop: The asymmetrical hair was the perfect frame for Thakoon’s detailed ear cuffs.
