International café society dropped in on Miami Beach last week just as they do every December for the art fair known as Art Basel. Naturally, these art world chameleons knew how to dress to rival the pieces on display. Few Spring 2018 collections seemed more primed to rise to that challenge than Paul Surridge’s inaugural line-up for Roberto Cavalli, a label already synonymous with South Beach’s exuberance. Featuring warm colors, bold accents, and an innate sense of occasion, Surridge’s debut re-invents the Cavalli of old for a new savvier generation of sophisticated jet setters, taking inspiration from the label’s history with fetching silhouettes and inviting Tuscan hues, and broadening it for maximum beau monde appeal.
