All the Pictures From Calvin Klein's After Party, Where Raf Simons Assembled a Superstar Lineup of Female DJs
"It's like someone brought Berlin to Midtown," a guest could be overhead saying Friday night at Calvin Klein's after party during New York Fashion Week. Held in the same showroom space at the Calvin Klein headquarters where creative director Raf Simons had shown his second runway collection for the brand the previous night, scaffolding had been brought in doors, Sterling Ruby's textiles and installations hung from the roof and the lighting design bathed the space in a red glow. Unlike so many parties in Berlin or elsewhere however, the lineup had a twist. Simons had assembled an all-female roster of superstar underground DJs from across the globe. "I am very pleased to give you tonight six wonderful women," Simons told the rapt crowd. "If you don't know them yet, find out soon, because they are the best." They included Japan's Hito, Russian-born Nina Kravis, and British Cassy in the main room, while New York's own Veronica Vasicka, French model and DJ Clara 3000 and Slovenian-born Pandora's Jukebox played an intimate side room. Guests including Lourdes Leon, Brooklyn Beckham, Paris Jackson, Barry Jenkins and a bevy of models danced the night away. Surely they'd agree that if there was any doubt New York can hold its own against Berlin, these pictures should put them to rest.
