Elad Lassry Gone Wild

Elad Lassry-134_48

Like a classically trained chef, the L.A. photographer Elad Lassry made his name by elevating common raw ingredients—cucumbers, say, or a carton of eggs—to an idealized, jewel-like sensory state. In his new solo show at New York’s 303 Gallery, Lassry is rebelling against refinement. Although he is wrapping, shrouding, or cloaking the surreal images he’s foraged from strange places with a cheeky sense of humor, their wild essence manages to shine through.

“Elad Lassry” is on view through October 26 at 303 Gallery, 507 W. 24th Street in New York.
