Hood by Air Fall 2015

From Bruce Jenner’s transition to Caitlyn to Eddie Redmayne’s upcoming role in The Danish Girl, gender fluidity is a hot topic. The conversation extended to the runways, most notably at Gucci, where the designer Alessandro Michele sent out frowzy suits and bow blouses, some of which were modeled by boys. And he was not alone in his androgynous inclinations. Vetements has built a cult following by creating clothes that work equally well on men and women; Proenza Schouler shook things up by sending out the male model Jelle Haen in a ladylike coat. And Giles Deacon, Hood by Air, and Adam Selman proudly cast the transgender models Andreja Pejic, Tawan Kariem, and Hari Nef (respectively) in their shows.
