The World’s Most Glamorous Pool Party, Then and Forever

91-129-10_pp5

For the last 60 years, the art collector and photographer Jean Pigozzi has lived larger and freer than almost anyone else going. An essential part of that blithe design for living is perhaps the most fabulous pool party not lost to memory. Over the years, Naomi Campbell, Mick Jagger, Jack Nicholson, Liz Taylor, Helmut Newton, Nan Kempner, Sharon Stone, and many others have floated languidly across the blue piscine at the Pigozzi villa in Cannes, France. The party’s going still, and you can get a VIP look at the scene in Pigozzi’s new exhibition, “JOHNNY’S POOL,” opening April 12 at Gagosian Gallery in New York.
