Jennifer Connelly Makes It Work

The “Noah” actress rarely plays it safe on the red carpet—and why should she?

Actress Jennifer Connelly has been busy promoting two major films this season, yet her wardrobe shows no signs of stress. At a photo call for “Aloft” at the Berlin International Film Festival, the star effortlessly turned a sweet tweed Chanel dress into red carpet material with barely-there heels and no jewelry.

Later that evening, Connelly upgraded to another black-and-white Chanel dress—this time a gown from the fall 2013 couture collection. A sleek up-do and bold brows mirrored the dress’s sculptural neckline, while a layered lace skirt kept the whole look from appearing too severe.

The pretty pink Givenchy dress she wore to the Mexico City premiere of “Noah” was nothing new—but she still managed to be named the best dressed of the day.

No best-dressed slideshow would be incomplete without at least one classic, Hollywood glam moment. With a faux bob, red lip, and high slit, Connelly looked the part in custom Lanvin at the Berlin premiere of “Noah.”

Connelly continued her winning streak in Madrid in Giambattista Valli Couture. Though the foamy pastel dress was sugary sweet, her slicked-back hair kept things edgy.

Connelly was tough and chic at the New York premiere of “Noah” in a look from Nicolas Ghesquiere’s first collection for Louis Vuitton. Part shiny black leather, part brightly colored tweed, with easy hair and unexpected footwear, the look was 100% cool.

At a celebration for DuJour Magazine, Connelly took a cue from her “Noah” co-star (and fellow best dressed pal) Emma Watson in a sleek Saint Laurent suit. With a peek of lace sleeves and shiny snakeskin pumps, Connelly made the buttoned-up getup look like the most feminine thing around.

At the London premiere of “Noah,” Connelly stunned in an Alexander McQueen gown. With this much feathered organza and intricate beading, a single Jessica McCormack earring was the only accessory she needed.

At the Paris premiere of “Noah,” Connelly shined in another Nicolas Ghesquiere for Louis Vuitton look. With a futuristic, sequined bodice and a retro wide collar, the star’s elaborate gown contrasted well with her relaxed, wavy hair.
