“In preparation for a vacation on Mustique, I bought this Hermès beach cover-up [above] in Paris. It turned out the house we rented had an Hermès ashtray that matched! Obviously, I carried it around everywhere. There should be a new rule that you must match your ashtray to your ensemble while on holiday.”

2

“The Fondazione Prada museum recently opened in Milan. I just love this room full of cars designed by artists. I think my vintage Pauline Trigère dress, Prada turban, and red lipstick go perfectly with Walter De Maria’s hot wheels. Now all I need is a license!”

3

“The Italian-Egyptian model-actress Elisa Sednaoui looked so at home in this field in Arles, France, where we were shooting, I was inspired to knot her denim shirt and have her pose in front of a tractor. It was our take on the country-girl pinup.”

4

“I came across these tins of seafood at a restaurant in Arles. Aren’t they cute? I especially love the headgear. If Carmen Miranda had promoted a line of canned goods, this is exactly what it would have looked like!”

5

“These are two of my favorite souvenirs from Mustique. I picked up the beaded bag from a local store, and then my boyfriend gave me the fantastic sunglasses, which quickly became part of my household uniform.”

6

“In São Paulo, I fell in love with this spiral staircase designed by the famous Brazilian architect Isay Weinfeld.”

7

“Meanwhile, this Pink House boutique on Mustique looked like a Barbie house.”
