This Is Nada Fashion Show

Pretty much everything about the artist and PAOM designer Cheryl Donegan’s performance art-meets-runway show Contemporary Fashion, curated by Sam Gordon, on Thursday evening was fantastically untraditional. In lieu of a Lincoln Center tent, Donegan staked her runway in the NADA art fair performance space. Instead of casting tall, thin, young clothes hangers, Donegan recruited a collection of artists and creative types to model; the illustrator Richard Haines took the front row seat, drawing live as they paraded throughout the space. Then there was the clothing itself: a mixture of new and recent NADA x PAOM collaborations from Sarah Braman, Bjorn Copeland, Daniel Heidkamp, and Amy Yao with Donegan’s personal pieces. Talk about mixed media.
