The White House Correspondents’ Dinner is usually a self-congratulatory powwow for politicians to mingle with the reporters who cover them, with a few celebrities thrown in. But this year was a more subdued Nerd Prom, as the event has come to be known, because of the Donald Trump administration’s war on the press.
