In mid-October, London’s art institutions pull out all the stops for the advisors, collectors, curators, and artists who descend upon the city for Frieze week. This year, the Royal Academy of Arts may very well have them all beat with its top-to-bottom installation by the Chinese artist, Ai Weiwei. Overflowing with his monumental sculptures, the exhibition’s most glorious feat might be the courtyard—where the artist erected a forest of rootless trees.
