W‘s beauty director shares her favorite DIY laser treatments.

Kathy Ireland for ReVive Light Therapy

Whenever I feel the need to wake up my skin, I head to Dangene the Institute of Skinovation, where, after extractions and microdermabrasion, my fine lines are zapped with the Clear & Brilliant fractional laser, and I’m finished off with a 20-minute LED light session to calm and even my skin tone. But all of that takes time, which I don’t always have, so I’m thrilled that I can now mimic the high-tech skin fix in my living room. Iluminage Beauty Skin Smoothing Laser is an at-home version of the non-ablative laser that helps reduce lines around the eyes and lips. I love that it doesn’t hurt, like Clear & Brilliant can. There’s also the Kathy Ireland for ReVive Light Therapy panel, a sleek new gadget that uses LEDs (think Lite-Brite by way of Marc Newson) to promote collagen growth and destroy the bacteria that cause acne. Now that’s my kind of DIY.
