Chris Pratt Has Filed for Divorce from Anna Faris, Citing "Irreconcilable Differences"

After eight years of marriage, Chris Pratt has officially filed for divorce from Anna Faris, requesting joint custody of their five-year-old child, Jack, and citing irreconcilable differences as their reason for divorce.

This summer, Chris Pratt announced his separation from Anna Faris on Facebook, saying, "We tried hard for a long time, and we’re really disappointed. Our son has two parents who love him very much and for his sake we want to keep this situation as private as possible moving forward." While the former couple may have announced their separation on August 6, the divorce papers list their official date of legal separation as July 13, according to TMZ. Faris shared the same separation announcement in an iMessage screenshot posted to Twitter. She also tastefully addressed their separation on her podcast, Anna Faris is Unqualified.

The Guardians of the Galaxy and Jurassic Park star filed for divorce first, and was swiftly followed by Faris, who requested joint custody as well as child support. A prenuptial agreement and property settlement are also allegedly being discussed according to reports from TMZ. "We still have love for each other, will always cherish our time together and continue to have the deepest respect for one another," said Pratt and Faris in their official separation announcement posts. Their seemingly amicable split appears to be going well so far, as the two remain friends for now, according to a report from People. “It’s understandable that people seemed so invested in our happiness together. All I can say about that is, it’s all true, that we truly adore each other, and we love each other," said Faris in an interview about her breakup from Pratt.

In the few months since separating from Pratt, Faris has also moved on to a new relationship. While remaking the 1987 Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell romantic comedy Overboard, she has been spotted on a romantic vacation in Venice with the film's cinematographer, Michael Barrett.
