“The starting point was how the girls looked at the casting,” explained NARS Director of Global Artistry James Boehmer of the look he created for the Creatures of the Wind Spring 2015 show. “It’s that post-summer vacation glow mixed with the horrible humidity in New York.” To create the effortless, end-of-summer look, he used dewy bronze materials like tinted moisturizer ($42, narscosmetics.com), lipgloss on the eyelids and lips, and a new Spring 2015 NARS nude lipstick called Ligueria on the apples of the cheeks. “It’s almost like an overheated look, mimicking what happened when they were coming to the fittings,” he said. Hairstylist Anthony Turner took the “easy, haphazard” vibe a step further, using Bumble and bumble Full Form Mousse ($29, bumbleandbumble.com) and Surf Spray ($26, bumbleandbumble.com) to create half in, half out ponytails, and letting the models’ natural parts and bangs be. “They’re like this cool gang of girls,” he explained. Polishing things off (in more ways than one), manicurist Katie Jane Hughes used butter London’s Full Steam Ahead and Diamond Geezer (both $15, butterlondon.com) to create a shimmery ombre nail.
