Evan Rachel Wood, Android, Channels a Baby Hillary Clinton in Altuzarra

The Westworld star is definitely, positively, with her.

At the end of last week’s episode of Westworld, Evan Rachel Wood’s android character Dolores broke from her prescribed narrative loop to venture out into the unknown with a pair of human visitors to the titular western-themed adventure park. It’s something of a 180 for a character who was literally programmed to only execute certain behaviors, and her narrative arc on the shown prompted Wood, who went on Seth Meyers’s Late Night Thursday evening, to describe Westworld as “the acting Olympics.” She reportedly received such helpful scripted instructions like “crying through the eyes” to round out the challenge. But while out promoting the series, Wood proved sartorial inclinations markedly different from her on-screen character. In a deep royal blue pantsuit worthy of a self-professed pantsuit aficionado like Hillary Clinton, Wood rocked a professional Altuzarra look.

Who: Evan Rachel Wood.

When: Thursday, October 27.

Where: On the set of Late Night with Seth Meyers.

What: A royal blue three-piece suit by Altuzarra with snakeskin pumps.

Why: She might play a western settler android on Westworld, but IRL, Evan Rachel Wood seems all about channeling a young politician. Hillary Clinton wore red, white, and blue for each of the three presidential debates against Donald Trump, each by Ralph Lauren, each with its own subtle detail. The navy blue she wore for the second debate featured a contrasting periwinkle label, for example. Wood’s pantsuit is a bit more contemporary, a bit sportier, and even, dare we describe a pantsuit as “edgy”? Yet, following a red pantsuit on Jimmy Fallon’s show earlier in the week as it does, we can’t help but think Wood’s choice is a not-so-subtle endorsement of the democratic presidential nominee, with just more than a week to go till voters head to the polls. Evan Rachel Wood is #withher. So it remains to be seen: Can fans of Westworld swing the election?
