Heidi Klum Upholds Her Title as Queen of Halloween Dressed as a “Thriller” Werewolf

This must be seen to be believed.

There’s no celebrity that gets as weird on Halloween as Heidi Klum. The model’s over-the-top parties and complex, outrageous costumes have been a Halloween staple for years now, thanks mostly to her special-effects team. And this year was no exception.

On Tuesday night, Klum finally revealed her 2017 costume as none other than the werewolf from Michael Jackson’s 1982 “Thriller” music video. You know the one: Jackson transforms into a werewolf when night falls, and then he dances around with his signature claw-arm moves. He also wears a varsity jacket and has lots of facial hair, obviously.

“It takes a long time to lay the prosthetics but then putting it all together, it took seven hours. Michael Jackson was always such an icon and the ‘Thriller’ video is such an iconic video and I was like, ‘I have to redo that,'” Klum explained to People about the costume’s process, noting that she worked with the makeup studio ProRenFX to get the look exactly right. “Obviously it’s difficult because I can’t dance like Michael Jackson. I don’t think anyone can dance like Michael Jackson, but I tried my hardest.” Klum said the fake amber contacts she wore proved to be the most challenging part of the costume: “It’s always hard when you have contact lenses. I don’t wear contact lenses so anything that goes in the eye … we had to do it a few times.”

This “Thriller” werewolf joins Klum’s lineage of extreme costumes, which have included an exaggerated Jessica Rabbit, an old man, and the human body. Last year, she arguably outdid herself even more by going as a group costume with six Heidi Klum clone lookalikes. Start guessing for next year!
