Jason Wu Fall 2015’s Fresh Faces
For the second season, fashion designer Jason Wu turned to the work of photographer Helmut Newton for inspiration for the hair and makeup for his runway show. Unlike the crimson lips and bold brows of Spring 2013, however, makeup artist Diane Kendal for Lancôme created a fresh, Charlotte Rampling-esque face for Fall 2015, which well illustrated the nude makeup trend. The big surprise, though, was the hair, which, for the first time, wasn’t pulled back or pinned up. “Jason feels that when the hair is down, you lose the neck,” says Kerastase hair stylist Odile Gilbert, who added her signature organic touch by tucking a bit of hair behind one ear. “But in real life, it’s sexy.”
