Lottie Moss Wakes Up, Smells the Roses, Heads to amfAR Milan

Fendi flowers, that is.

As Milan Fashion Week drew to a close, there was one thing left on the social calendar: the amfAR gala, which turns out in every major city with a major fashion event. And Milan’s installment this year was quite the occasion: It raised just shy of $2 million for AIDS research, the most an amfAR event has ever brought in, due in large part to the auction emceed by Karolina Kurkova that was the evening’s main event. (Among the lots on offer were tickets to the annual Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, auctioned off by Adriana Lima for approximately $112,000, and the Golden Globes.) While each front row at Milan Fashion Week had its own clutch of It girls, social media personalities (looking at you, Dolce & Gabbana), and fashion favorites, the amfAR gala was a nexus for all of them, models, It girls, and celebrities, gathering in one place in their sheer, frilled, sparkly finest. It being Milan Fashion Week, plenty of European brands put in appearances: Sara Sampaio in Philipp Plein; Natalie Ludwig in Chloé; Rose Gilroy in Salvatore Ferragamo. But standing out amid this radiant crowd was Kate Moss’s little sister Lottie, a rising model and designers’ favorite in her own right, in a stunning Fendi creation.

Who: Lottie Moss.

When: Saturday, September 24.

Where: The amfAR Milan gala in Milan, Italy.

What: A Fendi Fall 2016 black chiffon gown with embroidered flowers and Bulgari jewelry.

Why: It can’t be easy having the shadow of Kate Moss looming over you, but Lottie Moss is quickly establishing herself as a designers’ muse in her own right, though perhaps one who favors the front row over the runway. She appeared front-row at Fendi’s Spring 2017 show last week, and she repped the label yet again for the amfAR Milan gala. Her Fall 2016 gown was the perfect floral accompaniment for an English rose. She let the delicately embroidered look speak for itself, opting for a subtle smoky eye, neutral lip, and slightly messy updo to offset the intricate detail of her gown. And, on Instagram, the rising star didn’t forget to shout out her Uber driver who shepherded her, Fendi and all, safely to the gala.
