There’s Something About Mary Charteris
The British globetrotter and multi-hyphenate Mary Charteris seems to be omnipresent these days. She is a model, DJ and vocalist, a performer in her husband Robbie Furze’s band The Big Pink. When she married Furze three years ago, she did so with Daphne Guinness and Keira Knightley in the audience. Oh, and you may recognize her from BFF Cara Delevingne’s Instagram. Wherever you may have spotted her, just try and keep up.
Three words that describe your style: I like the expression “peacocking.” Always wear one thing that stands out—I’m not sure that defines my style by that’s how I think when I dress.
Daily uniform: Vintage leather jacket, fitted tee or shirt, and skinny black trousers. I always wear some sort of boot. Plus a ilver chain and lots of rings on my fingers.
Preferred footwear: Always Alaïa boots.
Nighttime look: Pretty similar to daytime, except with high-heeled boots.
Style icon: Anita Pallenberg
Best recent discovery: The Hammersmith vintage fair in London.
Favorite stores: Rag & Bone, J Brand, Opening Ceremony, and anything vintage.
Favorite L.A. eatery: La Poubelle, and Café Gratitude for smoothies.
Favorite London shop: The vintage shops Relik and Found and Vision. Also, Kokon To Zai.
Lusting after: A Globe-Trotter suitcase.
What’s always in your bag: I don’t normally use a bag because my leather jackets have so many pockets. I also have a habit of losing them. But I always have migraine medication, headphones, cinnamon toothpicks, liquid eye-liner, and Crème de la Mer lip balm with me.
Winter wardrobe must-have: A Coach shearling jacket.
