For years, Manhattan-based interior decorator Muriel Brandolini has unwound from her jet-set career as an author and design consultant for clients like Princess and Prince Pavlos of Greece and the Gettys by spending the summer at her Southampton retreat. This season, Brandolini is bringing some of her global experiences to her Hamptonite neighbors with a pop-up shop inspired by her travels, appropriately named Life by Muriel Brandolini. “I didn’t just pick up little trinkets around the globe,” says Brandolini of her inventory. “I’ve taken my experiences and added a sense of quality and luxury. There is a little bit of everything.” And she means it: the store’s contents include directors chairs seated next to racks of sequin-dipped baskets and shelves stacked high with painted Thai ceramics—all embellished with little touches by Brandolini, who worked closely with the local producers. “Summer is the time to shop and browse,” says the decorator. “I prepared accordingly.”
