Natalie Portman Gives Birth to Second Child with Benjamin Millepied
Congratulations are in order for Natalie Portman and husband Benjamin Millepied, who welcomed their second child, a baby girl, on February 22.
Portman and Millepied’s reps confirmed the news to Us Weekly, saying, “Mother and baby are happy and healthy.” They also announced that their daughter’s name is Amalia. The couple also have a son together, five-year-old Aleph.
The actress announced her pregnancy in September, debuting her baby bump at the Venice Film Festival in 2016. Portman’s reps previously announced that the Oscar-nominated actress (Best Actress for Jackie) would be skipping this year’s Academy Awards—held on February 26—due to her pregnancy. Of course, we now know it’s because she had welcomed her second child just days before.
Her pregnancy style during awards season was widely praised, especially her use of romantic gowns and, fittingly, Jackie Kennedy Onassis–inspired looks.
Portman and Millepied were wed in 2012, after meeting on the set of Black Swan—a film for which she won her first Oscar.
