The recently engaged (and, actually, recently coupled) Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas are making their relationship official in every way. Though they'd previously declined to comment on the many reports of their quickie engagement, Chopra and Jonas both took to Instagram today to post the same Huji-fied photo in which they stare lovingly into each other's eyes. "Taken.. With all my heart and soul.." wrote Chopra, tagging the picture's location as Mumbai.
"Future Mrs. Jonas. My heart. My love." wrote Jonas on the same photo. Now, lest you think this is just a coincidence or a candid, let's notice a few things about the coupley selfie. First of all, the ring! Thanks to Chopra's hand position, there's no doubt what the rock on her finger means.
Second, the outfits. Chopra's yellow ensemble and Jonas' white sherwani ("regularly worn for formal occasions in India," per the Daily Mail) match the ones they wore for their roka ceremony. According to Elle, the roka engagement ceremony is "an Indian pre-wedding tradition where the bride- and groom-to-be formally exchange rings...in front of both their families. The families exchange gifts."
Third, the date. In the lower left hand corner, you can see the date stamp "8 18 18," aka Saturday. Is eight their lucky number? Perhaps. And we know that these pictures weren't just posted today, they were also taken today, because the Huji App, which added the color filter and the date to the picture, adds the date taken.
Chopra posted a series of photos from the roka ceremony with the caption, "The only way to do this...with Family and God. Thank you all for your wishes and blessings 🙏🏼♥️🎉," showing the couple praying, smiling, and embracing.
Congratulations to the couple!
