OUD Velvet Mood Reimagines Scent Through the Softness of Fabric
Maison Francis Kurkdjian explores textures as inspiration for its emblematic collection.
Francis Kurkdjian has long been fascinated by oud, one of the world’s rarest and most prized ingredients, for its complexity and animalic sensuality. With OUD velvet mood extrait de parfum, the Parisian perfumer brings out its softer side, informed by his love of couture and luxurious textiles.
Francis Kurkdjian was inspired to create the newest perfume after spending a night in the desert dunes of Liwa, marveling at the majestic dunes shimmering under the stars and shifting with the wind. The soft sand texture for him was reminiscent of scraps of velvet. OUD velvet mood brings the warm glow and expansive softness of those sands to life in scent form.
