Balmain’s new 1945 Soft Bag, designed by creative director Olivier Rousteing, marries the house’s heritage with a modern French sensibility. It winks at many iconic facets of the brand’s visual history — if you know where to look.

The maison’s unmissable interlocking PB monogram is reimagined throughout the new collection in a variety of styles and hues. The pattern references mid-century Balmain designs and channels the labyrinth gardens of the French Renaissance, which greatly inspired Pierre Balmain’s work.
