Burberry’s Olympia Bag Marries Architectural Lines And Modern Femininity

Written by Brynn Wallner

Since 1856, an ethos of timeless simplicity has been woven into the literal fabric of Burberry’s clothing and accessories. Inspired by this meaningful heritage, Riccardo Tisci has turned to the power of femininity to inform the design of the house’s new signature bag: the Olympia.

The Olympia gets its name and silhouette not from Burberry’s London roots, but from the sunny hills of ancient Greece. The bag’s crescent shape embodies the natural curves of the Mediterranean landscape and intimately complements the soft crescents of the body. The result is a celebration of the past, skillfully balanced by the edge of modern female energy.
