Not everyone is lucky enough to have a clothing line named after them. But actress Elizabeth Olsen has petite shoes to fill: her older sisters, fraternal twins Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, are the lauded fashion designers behind luxury brand The Row and its sister contemporary label Elizabeth and James. The twins named the later line after their two siblings, and even before Olsen began acting, she had clothes with her name on them ready for red carpet events.
Olsen’s style has been on the ascent since she made her big screen debut in 2011’s indie film Martha Marcy May Marlene. Throughout the 2010s, Olsen proudly wore Elizabeth and James, pairing the brand’s crisp modern jackets with power heels, becoming the brand’s poster child and its namesake. But as the decade turned and she joined the Marvel Universe, she’s shown off her star power by experimenting with The Row’s famed tent dress silhouettes, wide-legged suits, and sumptuous velvet textures.
Now, Olsen is starring in the new limited series WandaVision on Disney+. She’s reprising her role as Wanda Maximoff, also known as the Scarlet Witch in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and in the show, Wanda and Vision (played by Paul Bettany) channel the perfect Stepford couple as they attempt to blend in with the suburbs. But in real life, Olsen’s style sets her apart, with its practicality and ease — and it’s only gotten better with time. Click through to see Olsen’s style evolution through the years.
