Emmys 2020 Best Dressed: The Select Few Who Stole the Show

You may have found yourself cringing through Jennifer Aniston and Jimmy Kimmel setting a winners’ card on fire, jokes about ICE, Zoom lags, and Kia sponcon while watching the 2020 Emmy Awards on Sunday night. But one aspect of the show which did not disappoint, (aside from Dan Levy sweeping for Schitt’s Creek, plus Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and Regina King taking awards home, too,) were the few standout looks that celebrities like Zendaya, Tracee Ellis Ross, and King wore. Sure, Rachel Brosnahan in a comfy-looking, color-blocked pajama set by Christy Rilling was a chic option for at-home viewing, and Tracy Morgan was all of us in a Kappa sweatsuit. But it was certainly fun to see all-out, big-time red carpet looks from Kerry Washington and Shira Haas (who tuned into the Emmys at 4 AM from Israel). Of course, there were also those who opted for simple, but powerful messages (which we’d hoped to hear more of during the awards show): Uzo Aduba wore a black t-shirt that simply read, “Breonna Taylor.”
