International Women's Day 2018

International Women’s Day 2018: 10 Statement Pieces Designed by Women

For International Women's Day, many women fashion designers have created pieces that raise money for female-focused causes. Labels like Lingua Franca and La Ligne, for example, created message-emblazoned knitwear that benefits Alliance for Quality Education and Time’s Up, respectively, while brands like Milly and Oeuf made pieces for powerful that raise money for Girls Inc. and Sanctuary for Families. This year, Elizabeth Arden is revisiting the brand's own history (the founder, after all, marched down New York City’s 5th Avenue in 1912 demanding equality and the right to vote) by launching a new lipstick with Reese Witherspoon, the formidable actress, producer, and founder of Time’s Up; and the haute fashion retailer Net-a-Porter invited six designers to create custom tees celebrating the special day, with Stella McCartney, Bella Freud, and Rosie Assoulin all getting in on the action. There is still so much work left to be done, and there has never been a better time to fill your closet with pieces that do good. Here are the top 10 to buy in celebration of International Women’s Day.
