Marc Jacobs Threw a Very “Chic ’80s” Party in Brooklyn
Guests at Marc Jacobs’ party packed on the shine, sheen, and sparkle in tribute to both the bygone decade and the designer’s latest resort collection.
Marc Jacobs sent the invite out for his party on Thursday night in Williamsburg with a strict dress code attached. The dictate called for “chic 80’s” and “a decorative frenzy in electric paradise.” Most guests responded by packing on the sheen, shine, and sparkle, all highlighted by some very Patrick Nagel-worthy makeup looks. Which seemed appropriate for a party where guests were greeted at the door by two nearly nude women covered in little more than head-to-toe pink glitter paint. It was all in celebration of the designer’s neon-tinged and animal print accented 2017 Resort collection. Though the designer himself didn’t make an appearance, the party attracted the likes of cool girl models including Hanne Gaby Odiele and Duckie Thot, and a collection of New York scenesters ranging from Ladyfag to go go girl-for-the-night Kyle Farmery. The guest list was essentially an index of people who seem to be physically unable to ever skip a good party, which, you know, always makes it a good party.
