21 Chic, Sustainable Items to Shop This Earth Day
Being eco-friendly has never looked so chic. This Earth Day, luxe ethical fashion brand Maiyet is debuting their first biodegradable sunglasses. The jewelry designer Monique Pean, another designer well known for her commitment to sustainability and social responsibility, is partnering with Trees for the Future to give a garden kit to African families in need, to enable these families to become substance farmers and plant themselves out of poverty, while another label known for is work in Africa, Edun, has long been dedicated to creating long-tern sustainable growth opportunities on the continent, partnering with local artisans to manufacture their fashion goods. A few labels are trying out the sustainable fashion space for the first time, including Eddie Borgo, who has launched a line of eco-friendly linen handbags, made from un-dyed flax linen. In addition to shopping from brands that are working to make their products in eco-friendly and socially responsible ways, you can always shop vintage–many celebrities do it, and who doesn’t want a pair of jeans from cult-favorite denim label RE/DONE?
